LP TUNES STYLUS FOR NAGAOKA NM-33 CARTRIDGE

The LP Gear stylus for Nagaoka NM-33 cartrudge features a highly polished conical diamond tip bonded to a hollow-core thin wall cantilever for fine musical reproduction. The stylus is made in Japan by a world-renowned maker.

The Nagaoka JN-555 stylus private labeled for Expert Super uses the same Ultra-Ex nude stylus and solid carbon black cantilever as the original Nagaoka JN-555 stylus.

The Ultra-Ex stylus offers top performance for stereo to discrete four-channel reproduction, long playing life and clear tonal sound quality. The solid carbon black cantilever with its very high rigidity and very low effective mass, faithfully transmits the most delicate movements of the stylus tip to the magnet. By combining the solid carbon black cantilever with the Ultra-Ex stylus tip, the frequency response range has been widened to cover everything from the subsonic to the supersonic.

To maintain the playback fidelity of your mono record you really need to use a stylus designed for mono records. The 1.0 mil mono stylus is the standard for mono records. A very common misconception is that you can use a LP stylus for playing mono records and obtain remarkable results. You cannot because the LP stylus is narrower than the 1.0 mil mono record groove, hence the tip will slide to the bottom of the groove where debris has collected for many decades. A LP stylus will also slide side to side and will not trace the grooves properly. The use of a LP stylus will thus result in poor sound quality and extraordinarily high surface noise.
