The Stanton D6800-EEE MKIII D6800EEE MKIII needle stylus is designed for the Stanton 681EEE MKIII phono cartridge. The stylus features a highly polished special elliptical diamond with a .0003 x .0007 inch scanning radii. It is mounted on a thin-wall metal alloy tube cantilever for excellent tracing of record grooves and results in very accurate rendition of voice and music.

Special Notes
(1) The cartridge needs to be aligned and set-up properly using an alignment protractor. Due to its special ability to reveal detail, if the cartridge is improperly aligned, you will hear distortion.

(2) We recommend that you detach the supplied brush. It's easier to align and optimize and it delivers better sound quality.

The Stanton D-6827 D6827 stylus is the 78 RPM stylus used with all Stanton 680 series cartridges. The Stanton 680 series cartridges include: 681EEE, 681EE, 681A, 681SE, 681BPS, 680E, 680.V3, 680EL and 680EE. The stylus features a 2.7 mil diamond designed specifically for the correct tracing of the wide grooves of 78 RPM records. It results in minimal groove wear and accurate rendition of voice and music.

A very common misconception is that you can use an LP stylus for playing 78 RPM records. This is one quick and sure way to damage the 78 RPM record grooves. To maintain the playback fidelity of your 78 record, you really need to use a stylus designed for 78 RPM records, otherwise with just a single playing, you could ruin the fidelity of the record grooves. Moreover, the LP stylus is much narrower than the 78 RPM record groove hence the tip will slide to the bottom of the groove where debris has collected for many decades. This results in extraordinarily high-surface noise.

The Stanton D71-2E needle stylus was discontinued decades ago and is no longer available. As a substitute, we recommend the Pickering DE needle stylus which features a highly polished elliptical diamond for superb tracing of record grooves. It results in finer detail, clarity and harmonically complete sound quality.

The genuine Stanton stylus features features a highly polished and precision profiled .0004 x .0007 inch special elliptical diamond for very accurate tracing and tracking of record grooves, long playing life and high definition reproduction of recorded voice, music and harmonics.
