Bang & Olufsen SP-10 SP10 phono cartridge
BANG & OLUFSEN SP-10 SP 10 SP10 PHONO CARTRIDGE

The Bang & Olufsen SP-10 SP 10 SP10 pick up cartridge is a low impedance moving iron phono cartridge for high fidelity reproduction of stereo and mono records.

Naked Diamond
The cartridge is fitted with a highly polished naked diamond stylus mounted directly in a low mass cantilever to give very low effective tip mass. The moving parts are critically damped and this factor along with a high compliance allows very low stylus pressure to be used for reproduction.

Micro Cross
A symmetrical micro-cross armature picks up signals from the record with excellent separation and the balanced push-pull magnetic circuit and pick-up coils ensure very low distortion and cancellation of external magnetic fields resulting in very low hum pickup.

Product Packaging
The Bang & Olufsen SP-10 pick up cartridge Type 8905424 comes complete with a spherical naked diamond stylus in a metal can. It is our last one. This is not new but practically so. We used it once for less than an hour to test a B&O turntable about 20 years ago, then uninstalled and boxed it. We found it again after all these years. It comes complete with manual, stylus cover and plastic box. It is a very rare find. We have not seen one in over a decade.

LP Tunes BIN 215 phono cartridge
Vendor:LP Tunes
BIN 215 PHONO CARTRIDGE - HIGH OUTPUT MC 1.7 mV

The BIN 215 is a product of intent and serendipity. For decades we had aspired for a Moving Coil cartridge that is unpretentiously musical - just like the Small and Large Advent Speakers1 in the Seventies that became standards of high excellence despite their very modest price. On my meager part-time job, I was able to set aside and afford them as a student at DePaul University in Chicago. The BIN 215 was conceived and designed during the pinnacle age of phono cartridges and is thus founded on the exuberance, best practices and exclusive knowledge of that golden and fertile time. Revived with additional learning, select newer parts, tight tolerances and old world craftsmanship, the BIN 215 like vintage years of superior wine has improved with age to become the best in doing what it does - nothing at all but sweet authentic music extracted from the grooves!

Serendipity and auspiciousness are courtesy of Sugano San. He introduced me to Masao Okada-San, the cartridge grand master of Excel Sound fame, the well-spring of many highly regarded cartridges. With the BIN cartridges, Okada-San had full control of product development. We wanted the BIN to be his best effort at an affordable, world-class High-Output MC cartridge. We wanted a MC product that MM users could eaily, and without encumbrance transition to and enjoy MC sound quality. Its sound quality thus bears Okada-San's DNA as can be heard in his later works with their HANA cartridges.

LP GEAR BIN 215 Comparative
The Supex 901 Super High Output MC cartridge2 is legendary. This 35-year old cartridge transcends time and sounds astonishing even today with its ability to reproduce musical passages with poise, timbral sophistication and picturesque spatial placement. It plays with silken musical ease and rightness that lets you enjoy listening for hours - it's like the mind works less to fill in the tonal gaffes. The BIN 215 offers textural and spatial kinship, harmonic richness and flowing timbral accuracy - less silken and in counterpoint slightly more revealing and quicker than the Supex SD 901 Super. Your ears will hear and delight in its delicacy, natural sound quality and eloquence.

Customer Comments
"Where did you get this thing? Breathtaking is not giving it justice!"

"I have never owned any cartridge that does not compress the music until now. I have also never owned anything with the linearity of this cartridge (from the very lowest to the highest...linear)."

"BREATHTAKING! It isn't even broken in and rides on my "lowest" turntable of the assemblage; yet, there is where it will stay. I have never heard the Technics sound like this!"

"I just listened to Sarah McLachlan sing "I Love You" to me. Never have I heard the bass notes of this song so distinctly and yet so much a part of the "reality" of the song. She occupied my listening room while she sang "Angel" as never before."

"The LP Gear BIN 215 is amazing! Thank you very much for supplying such an amazing cartridge. I have 2 cartridges that are 2X the price and one that is 4X...The 215 is better than all of them."

"After one month using the BIN 215 it is consistently surpassing my expectations. All types of music come through perfectly, but one distinguishing feature is its freedom from any treble distortions. Its treble performance is smooth, clean, easy, with a special delicacy. A special cartridge."

"Plugged in the BIN215 on the weekend. Still needs a bit of tweaking but I'm definitely not disappointed. It seems to reign in all the things that I didn't like about the sound I was getting from the Orofon 2m red. First record played was back in black and the sound just made me turn it up louder and louder in search of some harshness in the treble and there just isn't any. Glad to finally have the sound reminiscent of my old Supex 900 series back again."

"The BIN 215 high output moving coil cartridge sounds ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE."

BIN 323 PHONO CARTRIDGE - HIGH OUTPUT MOVING COIL CARTRIDGE 1.7 mV
- Does nothing at all but play music magnificently

"A couple of months ago I purchased a BIN 323 Phono Cartridge for LP Gear to add some variety to my line up of Phono Cartridges.  I have some good cartridges from Audio Technica and Hana, mostly Moving Coil cartridges.  I wanted something different from what I had to listen to, so I read up on the LP Gear BIN 323 High Output Coil cartridge. I first installed it on my Technics SL1200GR direct drive deck for a spin.  At first, I found nothing special other than it seemed to have more output falling somewhere between a good Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridge.  Early on, it sounded to be a bit "Knarly" sounding with the high frequencies, with too much of a sharp edge.  After about 5 to 6 weeks of frequent use, it smoothed out quite bit and sounded more natural and pleasing.

The cymbals and other high frequencies now sound natural, and are quite pleasing in fact.  This preamp can serve both moving coil and moving magnet cartridges and to me, sounds equally well with either.  I'm glad I have a BIN 323 as it can serve the needs of most magnet and coil output phono cartridges.
Give one a try as you may like the Audio as I did. The BIN 323 sounds better than I ever expected. Not far off the audio from my Hana SL Cartridge"

Denon 100th Anniversary DL-A100 DL A100 DLA100 phono cartridge 0.3mV
Vendor:Denon
DENON 100TH ANNIVERSARY DL-A100 DL A100 DLA100 PHONO CARTRIDGE - LOW OUTPUT MOVING COIL

The Denon DL-A100 cartridge was developed by precisely reproducing the original engineering reference model of the high-performance Japanese standard cartridge DL-103 and elevating its performance, accuracy and musicality by using the latest tuning technologies. All of the coils are hand-wound, with more time taken for the Anniversary model.

In his Stereophile review of the Denon DL-A100 cartridge, Art Dudley found the DL-A100 to be naturally detailed without brightness and imbued with excellent musical flow. In comparison with the DL-103, his experience is that the DL-103 was tubbier in the bass region while the DL-A100 is cleaner down there; the Denon DL-A100 also offered better micro-detail dynamics and resolution. 1

Signatures of Excellence
The DL-A100 features the 100th anniversary special case, and comes with a 5-year warranty and a signed certificate of authenticity from the chief production engineer who had crafted the product. Also included is a beautiful Denon "brand book" that explores the history of one of the leading names in the audio-visual field.

DENON DL-103 DL 103 DL103 PHONO CARTRIDGE

"For the first round-up, I was initially to have received the slightly upscale version of Denon's venerable DL-103 (the "R" version)—favored by none another than Dave Wilson, regardless of price, for its tonal accuracy and overall balance—but instead perhaps due to a communication mix-up, I ended up with the straight DL-103. Whichever model you consider, at $379 and $229 respectively, this true classic, which has been in production since I got into this hobby in the mid-70s, must be counted among audio's most remarkable values."
- Wayne Garcia, The Absolute Sound, October 2010, Issue 206, p36

The Denon DL-103 phono cartridge is the only moving coil cartridge that has withstood the test of time. Developed by Denon in collaboration with the Japan Broadcasting Corporation Technical Research Laboratories as a high-performance, high-reliability phono cartridge for broadcasting purposes, the Denon DL-103 has been in continuous production since 1963.

While other "wonder" cartridges have come and gone, the Denon DL-103 continues to thrive by offering musical rightness. There is no other cartridge that comes close to its legacy. The Denon DL-103 phono cartridge has been in use for a long time in public and commercial AM and FM broadcasting stations. It was used by EMI and Decca as their reference for evaluating LP sound quality. It's been evaluated, reviewed and praised by many publications and end-users. It's been around for over 40 years. Along the way, it has captured the hearts and minds of technical experts, audiophiles and music lovers. It's a testament that greatness endures. This is what comes with your ownership of a Denon DL-103. It is a phono cartridge that you will enjoy for a very long time.

The Denon DL-103SA is a special edition of the highly regarded Denon DL-103R cartridge. Both share the same specification. The wiring is made of 6N OFC cable with metallic blue fiberglass composite housing. The limited edition Denon DL-103SA offers superior resolution and sound quality way above and beyond the DL-103R. The cartridge has a smoother and fuller sound with each instrument more clearly and precisely defined in dimensional space and time. The sound stage is closer for more listening intimacy. The bass goes lower and is dynamic, full and solid. Denon states it is a dream MC cartridge - probably their cryptic way of saying it is exceptionally different and extraordinarily way beyond very good.

The Denon DL-103SA is packaged in a luxury walnut wood case. Only 2,000 pieces of this model will be manufactured. A frequency response curve of the given unit is supplied.

Denon DL-110 DL 110 DL110 phono cartridge - high output moving coil
Vendor:Denon
DENON DL-110 DL 110 DL110 PHONO CARTRIDGE

The Denon DL-110 phono cartridge was designed to enable more people to enjoy the exquisite sound quality of moving coil (MC) phono cartridges. Developed using Denon's state of the art MC cartridge manufacturing know-how, the Denon DL-110 is a moving coil cartridge capable of producing a high output of 1.6mV which is equivalent to the output of moving magnet (MM) phono cartridges. The Denon DL-110 phono cartridge can thus be directly connected the MM phono input of your amplifier or receiver without the need for a step-up transformer, head amplifier or pre-preamp.

State-of-the-art technology has been employed in the minute sections of the Denon DL-110 phono cartridge such as the traditional cross-shape armature, dual-construction cantilever and the vibration-center one point support method using suspension wires. This enables balanced characteristics and excellent sound quality comparable to higher priced cartridges.

With the Denon DL-110 original vibrating section and its two-way damping method, sound quality fluctuations due to temperature differences are kept to a minimum. In addition, the overall weight has been reduced by simplifying the magnetic circuit thus improving the tracing ability of the stylus against record warps.

The Denon DL-110 phono cartridge uses a special elliptical stylus with a rectangular cross section of 0.1 x 0.2 mm. It reaches deep into the record groove to extract detail while bypassing groove wall beaten and shorn by age, misuse and misalignment. You'll probably be surprised by how quiet your LPs sound.

Proper setup is very important with the Denon DL-110 phono cartridge.
