Reviews & Feedback
Just wanted to let you know that I received the AT-F3/III Wednesday and got it up and running. I mounted it on my REGA P3-24 using the Denneson Soundtractor, tracking at 2 grams and using a 2mm spacer under the arm. All I can say is WOW! A-T really improved on the original AT-F3/II. Sound is so much smoother and the shift to medium compliance is a HUGE +. It does very well on the RB-301 arm and is an unbelievable bargain at it's price...which I'm sure won't last long...

I have to tell you that I had an ORTO Salsa prior to the AT and I have to say that the AT is really a better cartridge...even though the Orto is twice as expensive. The Orto is just to HOT and in-you-face. Also, it tended to wobble a tad similar to the Grado dance. The AT just let's the music flow and makes you forget all the technical aspects and headaches you just suffered in tonearm/cart setup... This one's a WINNER!

Thanks for making this available,
JA

Audio-Technica AT-MONO3/LP phono cartridge - High Output MC Mono
AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-MONO3/LP AT MONO3/LP ATMONO3/LP CARTRIDGE - MC MONO
- True mono cartridge for true mono fidelity

Mono True Cartridge
The AT-MONO3/LP is a true mono cartridge - one of a select few in the world! A true mono cartridge is designed, wired and built only to retrieve signals from the record grooves in the horizontal plane. The groove of a monaural recording is modulated only in the horizontal plane. Stereo recordings, on the other hand, are cut into the vinyl at a forty-five degree angle with a separate channel of information on each of the grove walls, thus requiring the stylus to pick up signals in both the horizontal and vertical plane. As a stereo cartridge sums the channels internally, it picks up noise from the vertical plane of the record grooves. Interestingly, in a mono record much of the surface noise is in the vertical plane, so avoiding this plane is beneficial. By not even picking up or amplifying this information you eliminate a lot of the noise from mono records that you hear when played back through a stereo cartridge.

High Output Moving Coil Mono Cartridge
The Audio Technica AT-MONO3/LP cartridge a joy to hear. A high output moving coil cartridge of excellent production quality and wound with PCOCC coil for signal purity, it is designed to deliver excellent fidelity and superb clarity when playing monaural (mono) records. With its high output of 1.2mV, it can be used without additional pre-preamplification or a MC transformer in the signal path.

Audio-Technica AT150ANV phono cartridge
AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-150ANV AT150ANV LIMITED EDITION PHONO CARTRIDGE
- For music that just jumps from the grooves.1

The 50th Anniversary limited-edition AT150ANV moving-magnet phono cartridge combines traditional design elements and craftsmanship with the latest technological refinements to deliver richly detailed and superbly accurate vinyl playback. The AT150ANV utilizes a Micro Linear stylus tip mounted on φ0.4mm sapphire cantilever pipe. Its pure titanium housing and Neo-fade damping material are designed to absorb unwanted parasitic resonances for rock-solid clarity and and unshakable resolution. The musical result is sure to please the most discriminating audiophiles and music lovers.

Para-toroidal generation system and a high-performance dual magnet type system VM.
- Audio-Technica's moving magnet cartridge design delivers "practically identical to the cutter head" performance.Audio-Technica's patented Vector-Aligned Dual Magnet design positions two tiny magnets 90 degrees apart. These magnets are positioned directly in line with the two groove walls and each magnet incorporates a separate, independent coil structure. This low magnet mass and geometry allow exact translation of record groove motion into matching electrical signals, ensuring excellent channel separation, extended frequency response, and superior tracking. The power generation system adopted in the body features an extremely small magnetic loss para toroidal core without seam, resulting in higher power generation efficiency. In addition, the improved high frequency response is achieved via two laminated cores. A separate shield plate in the center of the left and right power generation systems reduces electrical crosstalk.

Cantilever pipe φ0.4mm sapphire.
- With the sapphire cantilever, there is no high-frequency resonance of the cantilever. Excellent frequency response is maintained across the entire band.

Pure titanium housing.
- High precision machined pure titanium housing provides a strong foundation material for the internal generation system and assists in rock-solid playback.

Neo-fade damping material mounted internally.
By incorporating the Neo-fade damping material mounted internally, unwanted parasitic resonance are adsorbed efficiently.

High-performance Micro Linear stylus.
- Latest and most advanced design closely resembles the cutter stylus than any previous design. This shape produces better high frequency response with less wear or distortion than with earlier configurations. The contact tip does not change shape up to the brink of obliteration.

PCOCC wire is used for the coil.
- A technologically advanced pure copper material is used in Audio-Technica's exclusive Para-toroidal Signal Generator. Together with the laminated core structure, which minimizes loss in the high frequency region, this integrated para-toroidal signal generator achieves an efficiency greater than conventional cartridges. The use of PCOCC wire (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) perfects the performance of the advanced para-toroidal coil design. A special high-temperature extrusion die produces copper with virtually no transverse crystal barriers to impede signal transmission or color sound. The coils of the Audio-Technica AT150ANV thus transmit distortion-free sound up to its output posts. The most subtle details are reproduced with natural purity.

Magnetic mold reduces unnecessary movement.
- The Magnetic mold, a hard synthetic resin material blended with potassium titanate for high strength and high rigidity, secures the magnet. This reduces unnecessary movement and results in for solid sound reproduction.

Audio-Technica AT150MLX phono cartridge
AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-150MLX AT 150MLX AT150MLX PHONO CARTRIDGE

The Audio-Technica AT150MLX reproduces subtle details faithfully, clearly, exquisitely. It is superbly accurate and musical. It lifts listening to a new level of articulation and enjoyment. This is really the characteristic that distinguishes the Audio-Technica AT150MLX phono cartridge.

"Everything points to the AT150MLX as the best moving magnet design."

- David A. Rich, The Sensible Sound, Issue 112, May/June 2007

Six technologies are harnessed to produce this extraordinary and highly accurate phono cartridge:
- Vector-Aligned phono cartridge: Patented by Audio-Technica, vector-aligned phono cartridges feature two magnetic generators arranged in the shape of a "V". These two magnets are positioned precisely to match the positions of the right and left channels in the stereo record groove. Major benefits of the Vector-Aligned cartridge include outstanding channel separation, very low distortion and superb tracking performance.

- Boron cantilever: Its tiny, gold plated boron cantilever provides an extremely rigid yet lightweight platform to which the stylus is mounted. The gold plating also acts to dampen the nano resonance that the boron may produce.

- MicroLine Stylus: The stylus used in the Audio-Technica AT150MLX is the latest and most advanced design. More closely resembling the cutter stylus than any previous design, this shape produces better high frequency response with less wear or distortion than with earlier configurations.

- PCOCC wire: A technologically advanced pure copper material is used in Audio-Technica's exclusive Paratoroidal Signal Generator. Together with the laminated core structure, which minimizes loss in the high frequency region, this integrated paratoriodal signal generator achieves an efficiency greater than conventional cartridges. The use of PCOCC wire (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) perfects the performance of the advanced paratoroidal coil design. A special high-temperature extrusion die produces copper with virtually no transverse crystal barriers to impede signal transmission or color sound. Even the output terminals are constructed of PCOCC copper. The coils of the Audio-Technica AT150MLX thus transmit distortion-free sound up to its output posts. The most subtle details are reproduced with clarity and purity.

- Mu-metal shielding: A mu-metal shielding plate between the left and right channels in the generator system assure that the high level of channel separation achieved is preserved at the cartridge output.

- Anti-resonance ceramic mounting base: To further increase the accuracy of the AT150MLX's moving system, Audio-Technica engineers have ensured against unwanted parasitic vibration with an anti-resonance ceramic mounting base.

Audio-Technica AT33Sa phono cartridge
AUDIO-TECHNICA AT33SA AT-33SA PHONO CARTRIDGE

The New Audio-Technica AT33Sa - irresistible sound quality! The AT33sa features the highly acclaimed Shibata stylus. The Shibata stylus produces richly detailed, harmonically melodious and organic sound quality across the frequency spectrum. To extend performance even further, it is mounted on a boron cantilever with a double damper.

Advanced tapered boron cantilever and reduced weight
The AT33Sa uses a tapered boron cantilever. Tapering the cantilever and revising the number of coil rotations reduce the weight, giving the cartridge better high range performance and wide range reproduction.

Neodymium magnet with dramatically enhanced magnetic energy and permendur yoke
The model uses a neodymium magnet with maximum energy product BHmax of 50 [kJ/m3] and a permendur yoke with high saturation flux density and outstanding magnetic properties, which further enhances the concentrated magnetic field of the coil gap.

PCOCC coil
The PCOCC coil enables purer transmission because it is not subject to grain boundaries in the direction of transmission. *PCOCC = Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting process (Monocrystalline high-purity oxygen- free copper)

High-separation, wide response dual moving coil
The basic structure is an original MC type, with separate cylindrical coils to the left and right channels. Since power is generated independently in each of the left and right channels, this structure offers truly superior separation. If the signal from the opposite channel escapes, this can cause intermodulation distortion and have a decisive impact on audio quality and how the stereo sound spreads. The structure of this product ensures a clear and smooth sound. Additionally, the two coils have a reverse-V shape which reduces effective moving mass as seen from the stylus tip, limiting unnecessary movement of the coil and further eliminating distortion.

VC mold limits unnecessary vibration
The VC mold that affixes the coils is made with hard synthetic resin containing potassium titanate to make it highly strong and rigid. This improvement results in a lighter product, which reduces unnecessary vibration. Highly rigid body suppresses resonance
The cartridge's housing is made of precision-cast hard aluminum alloy. Hard synthetic resin sandwiching in the structure on the top and bottom suppresses parasitic resonance. This minimizes unnecessary noise while enhancing rigidity and the signal-to-ratio.

The permendur magnetic circuit parts located around the magnet have also been newly designed to maximize the strength of the intensive magnetic field in the coil gap. This magnetic circuit increases the output voltage, and also enhances playback capability in the medium to low-frequency range.

Special line contact stylus with tip curvature radii of 40μm 7μm and solid boron cantilever with a 0.26 mm diameter. They enable exact transfer of music signals read by the stylus tip to the magneto coil.

Machined pure titanium base that supports the magnetic circuit and vibration system is made of precisely machined pure titanium materials. This serves as a solid base to frame a stable and wide soundstage and playback capability.

Hybrid body that reduces unnecessary parasitic resonance. The housing is made of machined aluminum materials and the cover is made of hard plastic materials. Together they dissipate parasitic resonances that smear and create spurious harmonics. With virtually minimal resonance, you'll experience see through clarity, musical air and optimal sound quality.

Quad hybrid lead wires with a balanced blend of gold clad, 7N-OFC, PCOCC and OFC are used in pursuit of the ideal balance with the main cartridge unit.
