78 RPM STYLUS FOR INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY ITVS-550BT TURNTABLE

The Innovative Technology ITVS-550BT turntable was fitted with a phono cartridge and a needle stylus. A photo of the stylus replacement is supplied above. The stylus features a 3.0 mil diamond for correctly playing 78 RPM records. The color of the stylus varies. Please verify and use this as a guide only since the cartridge and stylus may have been changed through the years.

To maintain the playback fidelity of your 78 record you really need to use a stylus designed for 78 RPM records. A very common misconception is that you can use a LP stylus for playing 78 RPM records. This is one quick and sure way to damage the 78 record grooves. Moreover, the LP stylus is much narrower than the 78 record groove hence the tip will slide to the bottom of the groove where debris has collected for many decades. This results in extraordinarily high surface noise.

If the stylus above differs from what you have,
then it means you no longer have the fitted
cartridge. For us to assist you further, we
need the cartridge brand and model number. This
info is usually inscribed on the cartridge and
stylus.

Saved a wonderful turntable and cartridge

I found a Dual CS508 ULM turntable at the local Thrift Store. It still had the AT cartridge installed utilizing the Dual 1/2" adapter. I made a simple repair but upon testing, the cartridge had no output. I removed the headshell adapter and found that "fatigue" had cause the adapter to crack causing a loss of contact with the tonearm connection. I had bought to 1/2" adapters from ebay and transferred the AT cartridge to the new adapter and mounted it back on the tonearm. The turntabled played perfectly. As a matter of protocol, I ordered a new stylus from LP Tunes that fit perfectly. Thank you for still having this stylus in stock.
