78 RPM STYLUS FOR CROSLEY CR-49 CR 49 CR49 TURNTABLE

The Crosley CR-49 CR 49 CR49 turntable was fitted with a stylus which features a 3.0 mil polished diamond for long playing life and correct tracing of 78 RPM wide grooves. A photo of the stylus replacement is supplied above. The color of the stylus varies. Please verify and use this as a guide only since the cartridge and stylus may have been changed through the years.

To maintain the playback fidelity of your 78 records you really need to use a stylus designed for 78 RPM records. A very common misconception is that you can use a LP stylus for playing 78 records. This is one quick and sure way to damage the 78 record grooves. Moreover, the LP stylus is much narrower than the 78 record groove hence the tip will slide to the bottom of the groove where debris has collected for many decades. This results in extraordinarily high surface noise and inferior reproduction.

If the stylus above differs from what you have, then it means you no longer have the fitted cartridge. For us to assist you further, we need the cartridge brand and model number. This info is usually inscribed on the cartridge and stylus.

Jico Neo SAS for Technics Epc-202C

I already have the original SAS for the 202 end sounds good, but the Neo sounds much better. The lows seem to extend further and with better definition, the mids are warmer but again have better definition and the highs are clearer and more accurate. I can now hear the resonance of the sound box as well as the strings on Stringed instruments, saxes sound fat and warm, cymbals sound real not hiss and bright. The Neo really suits my system. I was worried the Neo would be brighter than the original, but it sounds more real, like the music is being played in the room not coming out of a stereo.
