The Shure V15 has always been an even handed, great tracking cart. Perhaps verging on the boring, for some tastes. The JICO SAS styli retain the lush midrange, even handed presentation of the cart, but with a shot of adrenaline and perhaps a tad more revealing than the original styli. Super product!
Works a treat on my JVC quadraphonic system and despite the dreaded custom charges, it was still cheaper than modern equivalents and NOS stylus available elsewhere.
When Shure was no longer a stylus option, and I saw JICO here n there (ahem ahem) I was suspicious, but thankfully checked the sole supplier I saw website directly, LPTunes, and got a Straight Answer ASAP to my question whether their stylus were refurbished or factory NEW, which they proved to be. Not only do my LP's play CLEARER than they did with the SHURE styluses; they actually play LOUDER! Could be Just My Imagination. Who knows?
A protractor is essential for accurate cartridge alignment. The tool is beautifully crafted and the etched markings well defined. However, I found the mirror presents challenges because of reflections naturally produced under bright light. As a finicky owner of 3 turntables, I aspire to perfectly align my cartridges (Denon DL-S1, AT MLXa, and Eroica LX). The difficulty of the mirror is that it one can easily be distracted by the cartridge undercarriage reflections to the detriment of precise pinpointing of the stylus tip on the tool. When all is said and done, I ended up verifying alignment with a protractor printed on white paper -- similar to the free card provided free by LP Tunes with my order. NOTE: Please be aware that I may be more comfortable with the mirror finish as time progresses. As an avid vinyl LP enthusiast for over 50 years, it could be I'm simply an old dog trying to learn new tricks [smile].
I received the wrong stylus and it was broken. Customer support identified the issue and sent me an RMA # that I placed on the box and returned. Am now waiting for the correct part to arrive. I am impressed with customer service so far!
Received and installed. Excellent quality and your delivery was better than expected.
Great stylus, made a huge difference in sound quality. Fast shipping and good communication from LP Tunes.
I ordered this belt for the linear pickup drive of my Technics SL-J3 turntable Thursday July 19 in the evening, and arrived by the mail of Monday 23. I am amazed how fast it went. And it fit perfect too. My vintage turntabe is playing like new!
Easy to order it came in sooner than I expected and I was able to track it all along the way. Now I'm listening to my records again. Happy camper here
I was really happy with the stylus and it was very fast in getting here. I did not expect to be able to replace it. Worked fine and thank you for having it available.
ii haven’t tried this cartridge yet, but one thing i can say is the service of lp tunes is exelent, good communication and very fast shipping im very much impress, as a music lover you earned my business for life, keep up the good work.
RESULT: One of my 3 turntables has a tonearm that is slightly askew, which precludes proper cartridge alignment. Combined with use of an AT150Sa which has a VTA of 23 degrees, the Zupreme headshell permits adjustment of the horizontal plane to hit the "sweet spot" in the record groove. Two of my test LPs are Pink Floyd's "More" soundtrack and Tom Petty and the HB's "Hypnotic Eye" and the sound with the Zupreme is phenomenal. PERIPHERAL COMMENTS: The headshell is beautifully crafted, and the material composition and weight seems to have added greater cohesion to the rock and pop music I enjoy. I found the included wire leads superior to the AudioQuest in both maneuverability and quality of construction. Be mindful that the double-pin design may not be compatible with certain tonearms, and setting overhang requires careful measurement with a metric ruler since the Technics-type overhang adjustment tool has only a single pin for cartridge insertion. As a final peripheral note, be mindful that the color coded Zupreme lead wires emanating from the headshell "firewall" do not have colors etched/painted on the headshell; consequently, switching out lead wires requires attention to ensure proper channeling. BOTTOM LINE: Highly recommended product and superlative service, packaging, and quick delivery by LP Tunes!
This is a top notch stylus! The sound is truly excellent! I was surprised at how great it actually is. It sounds very detailed, and when set up properly, sibilance and IGD are basically a thing of the past. HIGHLY recommended!
Works great, original gave out so this is a great replacement. Did not hear a significant difference in quality tunes.
Have been listening to the stylus for two hours and am delighted with the results - significant gains in clarity and transparency.
I have been using this on my Stanton 680 cartridge with great success. Very smooth and articulate. This stylus is much better than the generic .2 x.7 stylus I was using. Alignment was slightly difficult but a small bubble level helped. Why Stanton/Pickering made a cartridge body with thin metal screw mounts is a puzzle. You have to make sure the cartridge is perpendicular to the record surface. Over the years I have seen some cartridges with a tilt between the body and mount. I am sure the LPTunes Shibata stylus for the Stanton 680/681 would sound better, but for my use the Vivid Line stylus is more than adequate
Purchased a new stylus and am very pleased with the sound quality.
Turntable used with is a Yamaha PF-800.
Genuine ED stylus for the Sure M95. Apparently NOS and they do sound wonderful. I have two! (so far)
