Original AT-440ML/OCC cartridge, sound quality, extended frequency and performance

Audio-Technica is the world leader in phonograph cartridges. Its cartridges are used by many renowned companies as original installed equipment and under private label. It is one of the last manufacturers to offer a full line of phono cartridge products that meet the needs of many budget segments, turntable/tonearm requirements and performance levels.

Audio-Technica's moving magnet cartridge design is patented and delivers "Practically Identical to the Cutter Head" performance. Instead of using a single, large magnet like other cartridge manufacturers, Audio-Technica's patented Vector-Aligned Dual Magnet design positions two tiny magnets 90 degrees apart. These magnets are positioned directly in line with the two groove walls and each magnet incorporates a separate, independent coil structure. This low magnet mass and geometry allows exact translation of record groove motion into matching electrical signals, ensuring excellent channel seperation, extended frequency response and superior tracking.

Each Audio-Technica cartridge is hand-assembled with tolerances held to mere thousandths of an inch. Stringent quality control assures that tolerances and performance criteria are maintained for each product. This attention to every micro detail in design, construction and final assembly results in superior phono cartridges that are delightfully musical and musically accurate.

With the AT-440ML phono cartridge, Audio-Technica delivers musical excellence in an affordable audiophile cartridge that rightfully should be compared with moving magnets costing many times its price. The Audio-Technica AT-440ML's excellence lies in its advanced technology, design and materials uniquely available to Audio-Technica because of its deep technical history and production capabilities.

Audio-Technica AT-95B AT 95B AT95B phono cartridge
AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-95B AT 95B AT95B CARTRIDGE
- The world-class AT-95E with Black stylus

The legacy of excellence continues. The Audio-Technica AT-95B phono cartridge, the black version of the AT-95E, was named one of the industry's best products by the Editors of Stereophile.1 Previously, the Audio-Technica AT-95E phono cartridge received the same high recommendation: Stereophile Recommended Component October 2004, 2005 and April 2006 (Vol. 27 No.10, Vol. 28 No.10 and Vol. 29 No.4). Packaged by LP Tunes, the Audio-Technica AT-95B is the only inexpensive cartridge included in the Stereophile Recommended List. All the other cartridges range from $200 - $17,000! Stereotimes.com March 2007 rated the Audio-Technica AT-95E phono cartridge Highly Recommended.

The Audio-Technica AT-95E phono cartridge has a very distinguished and colorful lineage. On its own, it has been a multiple recipient of Best Buy ratings in the UK. Its lineage is intertwined with the classic and musically acclaimed Linn Basik, K5 and K9 phono cartridges. Unlike these cartridges however, the AT-95E is delightfully affordable and available. Since October, 2004 and up to the present, the Audio-Technica AT-95E phono cartridge is included in the Stereophile Recommended Components List. It is the only inexpensive phono cartridge to be included in this highly selective recommended list! The review summarized the performance of the Audio-Technica AT-95E phono cartridge with the following words: "Makes music for 50 bucks!"

Paul Szabady in Stereotimes March 2007 had this to say about the Audio-Technica AT95E phono cartridge:

"The AT-95E integrates the range of the sonic bandwidth very well: no part of the spectrum sticks out at the listener. It doesn’t sound bright and it doesn’t sound dull at the top frequencies. Midrange is clear and detailed with no spittiness on vocals, though really cheap and inadequate analog match-ups will cause an slight upper mid-range burr."

The half-inch standard mount and dual-magnet Audio-Technica AT-95E cartridge sounds clear, dynamic and richly balanced. It allows music lovers to use limited means to upgrade their turntables and thus attain a higher level of discernment and listening pleasure without the financial burden typically associated with high end cartridges. Yes it is vibrant, dynamic and rich in detail as reviewers and users say, and some users may no longer wish to upgrade further. The Audio-Technica AT-95E phono cartridge has been consistently rated a "Best Buy" in the UK and we agree wholeheartedly.

Audio-Technica AT-ART9 phono cartridge
AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-ART9 MC PHONO CARTRIDGE 0.5 mV
- Hearing a thousand glorious notes and blank spaces

The AT-ART9 is Audio-Technica's flagship moving-coil cartridge. Combining the craftsmanship, artistry and leading-edge engineering derived from the AT50ANV, AT-ART7 and AT-OC9/III cartridges, the AT-ART9 employs a vibration system and magnetic circuit that are the best-ever within the series thus resulting in exquisitely transparent and naturally complete sound quality. It is so startlingly honest that your ears convey to your right brain and it comes to a singularly quick conclusion - this is real music at its best. Just like the body knows real sugar from processed substitute. Still, it will throw you off - until your left brain processes this truth, logically, deductively and empirically.

Its new magnetic circuit design adopts permendur yoke and neodymium magnet for dramatically increased magnetic energy, extremely low noise and improved bass response.

Special line contact stylus with tip curvature radii of 40μm 7μm adopted in AT50ANV and solid boron cantilever with a 0.26 mm diameter allow accurate transfer of music signals from the stylus tip to the generating coil.

Dual moving coil for high separation and wide response.

Hybrid body inherited from the AT-ART7 cartridge design to suppress unwanted parasitic and deleterious resonances. The housing is made of machined aluminum materials to dissipate parasitic resonances for unimpeded sound quality and clarity.

PCOCC coil wiring for direct and pure signal transmission

High-quality brass screws for headshell attachment offers the best match for optimal sound quality.

Reviews & Feedback
Just wanted to let you know that I received the AT-F3/III Wednesday and got it up and running. I mounted it on my REGA P3-24 using the Denneson Soundtractor, tracking at 2 grams and using a 2mm spacer under the arm. All I can say is WOW! A-T really improved on the original AT-F3/II. Sound is so much smoother and the shift to medium compliance is a HUGE +. It does very well on the RB-301 arm and is an unbelievable bargain at it's price...which I'm sure won't last long...

I have to tell you that I had an ORTO Salsa prior to the AT and I have to say that the AT is really a better cartridge...even though the Orto is twice as expensive. The Orto is just to HOT and in-you-face. Also, it tended to wobble a tad similar to the Grado dance. The AT just let's the music flow and makes you forget all the technical aspects and headaches you just suffered in tonearm/cart setup... This one's a WINNER!

Thanks for making this available,
JA
