DENON DL-301 II DL 301 II DL301 II PHONO CARTRIDGE

The Denon DL-301 II phono cartridge is the updated version of the popular Denon DL-301. The body style has been changed and output performance has been improved to provide a more detailed and articulate sound. In addition the output level of this standard output moving coil cartridge is slightly higher than most thus providing a strong response with plenty of punch.

Features
1. Vibrating system with rigidity and light weight. The structure of the vibrating system, which is the most important element in determining the performance of the cartridge, employs a double layer tapered cantilever, a cruciform armature, and a minute solid diamond stylus. The use of this rigid and lightweight vibrating system results in proper damping, outstanding trace capability, dynamic sound and light tracking force. You get to enjoy music enormously while preserving the life of your cherished LPs.

2. Rigid body construction. In order to eliminate unnecessary resonance, not only has the structure of the frame been unified with high-strength resin to include the magnet and terminal pins, but also, a light-alloy precision-engineered case has been incorporated. As a result, rigidity of the body's structure has been improved thus resulting in a crystal clean and accurate sound quality.

3. Denon's unique 2-way dumping system. The unique Denon two-way dumping system has been employed to suppress tonal variations due to changes in room temperature and at the same time to obtain level frequency characteristics.

Mono True 78 RPM Cartridge
The AT-MONO3/SP is a true mono 78 RPM cartridge - one of a select few in the world! A true mono cartridge is designed, wired and built only to retrieve signals from the record grooves in the horizontal plane. The groove of a monaural recording is modulated only in the horizontal plane. Stereo recordings, on the other hand, are cut into the vinyl at a forty-five degree angle with a separate channel of information on each of the grove walls, thus requiring the stylus to pick up signals in both the horizontal and vertical plane. As a stereo cartridge sums the channels internally, it picks up noise from the vertical plane of the record grooves. Interestingly, in a mono record much of the surface noise is in the vertical plane, so avoiding this plane is beneficial. By not even picking up or amplifying this information you eliminate a lot of the noise from mono records that you hear when played back through a stereo cartridge.

ORTOFON OMB 10 OMB10 CARTRIDGE

The Ortofon OMB 10 OMB-10 phono cartridge is the version of the OM 10 cartridge offered to turntable manufacturers for their use as original equipment with their turntables. Their popularity stems from three compelling reasons: (1) it plays music with authenticity, refinement, and artful competence that makes it endearing; (2) it is sensibly priced; and (3) it offers an upgrade path to highest fidelity. By simply replacing the stylus, an Ortofon OMB 10 owner can upgrade its performance to the highly rated Ortofon OM20, OM30 or OM40 cartridge.

There is a discontinued Super OM cartridge version. The current 2M is a further extension of it. Both illuminate the high frequencies to make it sound livelier — hotter. We prefer the original OM as it delivers an organic, natural, faithful, and honest sound of the recorded material.

Super Upgradeable
All OM models have the same body, construction, and magnetic circuitry. The only difference is the interchangeable stylus unit.
