SUTHERLAND TIMELINE SPEED STROBE AND RECORD WEIGHT

A great orchestra depends on a great conductor to keep the note of every instrument playing exactly at the right moment. The pluck of a string, or the trill of a flute just a fraction of a beat off can change a performance. The emotion that touches the soul of the audience depends on this precision. With a time-base accuracy of 2 parts per million, the Sutherland Timeline is the very definition of precision.

The Sutherland Timeline flashes its laser at precisely 33 1/3 (or 45) times per minute. If your turntable is rotating at exactly the correct speed, the dot is stretched into a line segment that is projected to the same place on every revolution. If, however, your turntable is too fast, the projected line segment will drift in a clockwise direction. If too slow, into a counter-clockwise direction. Adjust your turntable speed accordingly. The Timeline will also reveal any loading effects of stylus dragging forces.

The Timeline has also been designed to serve as an indispensable record weight that will effectively dampen the vinyl, providing quieter playback. Its machined Delrin lower section couples into the vinyl. That interface section is then tightly constrained by the rigidity of the machined aluminum upper section. Playback will be significantly improved by leaving the Timeline in place during playback.

Pro-ject 1.2 Turntable Replacement Belt
David Colucci (Bridgeville, US)
Turntable

It was quick and easy to purchase a replacment belt for my Project 1.2 turntable.

Brilliant!

I bought this based on reviews I read here and elsewhere and I recommend this cartridge highly. You hear everything with this one. It sounds just as good as the Linn Addikt on another turntable. It really is exceptional and there is no need to spend more IMHO.

Beogram TX-2

Great direct replacement for my TX-2.

Arrived on time, worked great.

LP Gear is a wonderful niche business!

I recently went on a bit of a stylus bender since bending my very costly Jico SAS B (for my Shure v15iv). I purchased a replacement, which after tarrifs came to nearly $400! I styli'd up for all my ortofons and shares so that A) I had good, new styli for my records' health, but also for better sound. I got LP Gear's house branded replacement styli for my vintage Ortofon VMS carts and my 2 Shures.
One thing I asked for, the LpGear branded stylus appeared to be identical to the Jico "budget" solution that LPGear offered for $20 more. I asked if some of their house branded offerings were OEM from Jico. I never heard. Based on this, and the fact that the images for the LPGear and the Jico on the web page were identical (one was rotated 180 deg), I concluded that the LPGear is likely a Jico. I didn't get a reply. :( But overall I'm thrilled with the purchases and the service. I highly recommend.

Wonderful Companion to Shure SC35C

Purchased based on the other review here and several posts on various forums stating this stylus was great for the Shure SC35C, as it tracks at half the weight of the standard stylus while still minimizing noise on old, well loved records. I'm happy to report they were 100 percent accurate. Records that were so noisy and full of pops and clicks are now much more enjoyable with several becoming almost dead silent. This combo is now a permanent additon to a dedicated turntable for well loved records that I don't use on my tables with higher end cartridges. I have enjoyed it so much I also have a second headshell with this combo to swap between my other turntables. Make sure you give it some time to break in as is common with all styli, it will continue to get better with use. If your still getting lots of noise with this combo your records are most likely still dirty and I suggest you invest in an ultrasonic cleaner. If that doesn't help the record most likely is trashed. This is a great stylus at a great price! Most replacement stylus for discontinued carts seen to be to getting quite expensive and I suggest buying several now as they will only get more expensive as time goes on like everything else has been.
