1200e upgrade brought all the extra dynamics and detail I was looking for! Fit right plays right, the aftermarket market brush I found lacking, I still had my OEM horsehair brush however so no worries. It was a good value!
Always wanted this cart. Found a body in great condition and then bought the stylus.My first impressions were negative as every surface defect was real prominent. After some arm geometry tweaking,and playing with VTF & VTA the cart has settled down and the tics/pops have mostly disappeared but still more prominent than I would like. My other line contact carts do not seem to have this issue. The playback is very good in terms of bass,mids,and treble. Hoping for more wear in of the stylus with continued playing to resolve any lingering issues. My advice is make sure your arm has height adjustment and pay attention to VTA & VTF. Clean the stylus well before using.
My stylus purchase came in this afternoon, inspected the stylus under a USB microscope, great stylus tip! I swapped the brush with the original Pickering brush. I had been listening to the OE Pickering 625E stylus just before the 1200E install. The OEM gave a very good full sound , the 1200E is that and so much more. More dynamic and detailed, clean sounding, a very worthwhile upgrade!
