LP Tunes Mirror Precision Universal Alignment Tool

A precision tool, well worth the cost.

A protractor is essential for accurate cartridge alignment. The tool is beautifully crafted and the etched markings well defined. However, I found the mirror presents challenges because of reflections naturally produced under bright light. As a finicky owner of 3 turntables, I aspire to perfectly align my cartridges (Denon DL-S1, AT MLXa, and Eroica LX). The difficulty of the mirror is that it one can easily be distracted by the cartridge undercarriage reflections to the detriment of precise pinpointing of the stylus tip on the tool. When all is said and done, I ended up verifying alignment with a protractor printed on white paper -- similar to the free card provided free by LP Tunes with my order. NOTE: Please be aware that I may be more comfortable with the mirror finish as time progresses. As an avid vinyl LP enthusiast for over 50 years, it could be I'm simply an old dog trying to learn new tricks [smile].
