The original Boytone stylus for the BT-17DJB BT17DJB BT 17DJB used a Sapphire tip which has a very short playing life of around 65-100 hours. As the tip wears, usually there is loss of clarity and high frequencies. The risk of record wear also increases.
The LP Tunes HD replacement features a highly-polished conical diamond tip bonded to an alloy cantilever. The HD diamond has a playing life of around 500-1,00 hours. It is the equivalent of 10 sapphire tipped styli and offers better sound quality.
