a review

I was looking for a replacement stylus for a Signet TK1EA. The places where the vintage vinyl/turntable geeks hang out suggested an Audio Technica ATN 130E. I sent LP Tunes an email asking if this would be an acceptable replacement. Still waiting for that reply. Even though the website had/has (?) multiple 130E listings, this stylus was discontinued. What I finally ended up with was an ATN 120Eb (no 120E's, either), and yes it serves quite well. I don't know what five stars would be; not likely achievable with this cartridge, anyway.

Parts work as advertised

No problems, smooth transaction with LP Tunes, replacement belt and stylus purchased, parts work as advertised.

Very nice stylus...frustrating pricing.

I'm a big fan of the CFN95SE...it's a significant upgrade of the stuck AT-LP120 stylus, and the latest one I received sounded broken-in straight out of the box.

Unfortunately, it was also significantly more expensive than the last one I'd bought just nine months ago, which was $49.99. A 20% price hike in such short a time is pretty extreme. Five stars for the stylus...one star for that price hike!

Belt

Hi guys, I’m sure this belt is just great. I actually need help getting the turntable to turn still. Is there a way that I can be on a phone call or even FaceTime to explain and show what’s going on with this Older turntable with any of your staff?

Great cartridge!

The solid low end was a surprise! I generally feel 2 gram tracking force is a bit high but am going with it as specified. I do a lot of LP to digital conversions and this cartridge tracks well on older worn LPs with little inner grove distortion. I did do a realignment as the cartridge/headshell as received was a bit off. The sound is unremarkable which is to say neutral which is a pleasant change from cartridges I’ve used in the past! Overall a great performer especially at this price point. Definitely recommended!
