QUICKSILVER HORN MONO AMPLIFIER

The Horn Mono Amplifier is designed specifically for use with very efficient loudspeakers. It has extremely low noise and distortion and approximately 18db less gain than Quicksilver's standard amplifiers. This avoids the noise and gain problems that normally appear when using horn speakers. The amplifier is designed to sound superb at the extremely low levels (milliwatts) that horn loudspeakers require. Many amplifiers actually have higher distortion at these low levels.

As with all Quicksilver amplifiers many different output tubes may be plugged in directly with no adjustments: matched pairs of EL34, KT90, KT88, KT77, KT66, 6550 or 6L6 output tubes. The power supply has over 100 joules of storage and the power cord has an IEC connector.

QUICKSILVER LINE STAGE PREAMP

The Quicksilver Line stage preamplifier embodies the Quicksilver philosophy of musicality, simplicity, reliability, and solid construction. It uses only one triode tube section of a 12AX7 per channel, resulting in a very direct sound that delivers wide bandwidth, increased dynamic range and low distortion. It is considered by many to be one of the most musically endowed preamps with its penchant for very rich, vivid, and remarkable reproduction of voice and musical instruments without the grating sibilance.

With its 100 ohm output, the Quicksilver Line Stage is capable of driving amps with low input impedance down to 20K. It can also be used with long interconnect cables. A precision Alps attenuator, with 41 detents, is used for the volume control. The 14 gold Teflon insert RCA jacks are chassis mounted for long life and a switched AC outlet are on the back of the unit.

QUICKSILVER MID MONO AMPLIFIER (ONE PAIR)

Quicksilver’s Mid Mono amplifier is completely hand-wired and can use many different output tubes;  the Mid Mono has a low loss output tramsformer, adjustable bias, high power and five-way gold-plated binding posts. Setting the bias is very simple: one screwdriver control and an LED indicator. Power is 40 watts at 50% triode operation with the standard EL34s and 45 with KT88s.

QUICKSILVER PHONO STAGE PREAMPLIFIER

The new Quicksilver Phono Preamp offers high gain, low distortion, low output impedance and both active and passive RIAA equalization. Input impedance and capacitance are internally switchable and the power supply includes 2 chokes and five stages of filtering. The circuit is all tube, no transistors. Gain is 47db at 1 KHz; 67 db when used with the Quicksilver Moving Coil Step-up Transformer.

Quicksilver believes that simplicity is the best approach to accurate sound reproduction. This has added signficance in phono preamplification because the mission of a phono preamp is herculean. It must accurately capture minuscule output voltage signals generated by a phono cartridge, processs them via its RIAA network and magnify them many thousands of times so that the line stage can amplify the signals accordingly. There should be no signal loss or variance while all of these are occurring within the phono preamp; otherwise, there will be missing or inaccurate musical detail. The resulting output should be extremely faithful to the record grooves.

The Quicksilver Line Stage Preamp with remote control volume now has a much lower output impedance, allowing it to drive almost any amplifier. It uses only one 6DJ8 per channel, resulting in the clear direct sound for which Quicksilver is known. Included are 14 gold-plated Teflon insert RCA connectors and an IEC power cable connector. Video pass-through is available upon request. A precision motorized alps attenuator is used for the volume control.

QUICKSILVER SILVER 88 MONO AMPLIFIER

The Quicksilver Audio Silver 88 mono-block amplifiers are hand-built and hardwired in the USA. What makes the Silver 88 amp truly special is its harmonic presentation. Instruments and vocals have a realism, dimensionality, body and harmonic structure that even the best solid-state amplifiers somehow cannot quite reproduce.

Employing only two KT-88 output tubes, the Silver 88 provides 80 watts without stressing or pushing these tubes to their limit, and with the lowest output impedance and distortion of all the Quicksilver amplifiers, the Silver 88 brings a new level of performance to this power range. The super low 0.5 ohms output impedance of the Silver 88 is almost unheard of among tube amplifiers and allows the unit to drive very difficult speaker loads you'd generally never think of using with tube gear.

An on-board bias meter allows individual adjustment of each output tube and, with low-noise power supplies and circuitry, the Silver 88 can still be used on very efficient speakers. Two power transformers and 180 Joules of energy storage provide effortless dynamic response, transmitting the full musical impact of sudden shifts from soft to loud. A modification of the sleek look of the V4, the Silver 88 has a chrome-plated chassis and carbide black transformer cover.

QUICKSILVER V4 MONO AMPLIFIER

Quicksilver builds equipment to last many decades of deep listening and musical enjoyment. Introduced in 1998 and with a new output transformer in 2014 to increase power, the V4 is an excellent example. Its sound excellence remains and continues. Powerful, musical, and effortless—this is the sound of the Quicksilver V4. As with all Quicksilver amplifiers, the V4s are all tube and hand wired point-to-point. A bias meter is mounted in the chassis and individual controls allow each output tube to be biased separately. The amplifiers come with KT150s, but EL34s, 6550s, or KT88s can also be used.

Matched quads will work best but are not necessary. The low screen voltage on the output tubes (300 volts) makes them last for thousands of hours of "on" time. The output stage has a separate power supply so that even maximum power levels will not diminish the sound quality. A new output transformer coupled with KT150s increases the V4 power to 170 watts into 4 or 8 ohms.
