The JICO SAS replacement for the Shure VN5MR needle stylus is used with the Shure V15V and Shure V15 Type V phono cartridges. The stylus elevates the above phono cartridge to its pinnacle performance and sound quality. The SAS tips are produced using a natural octahedral single-crystal diamond with the most advanced electronic engineering technology. The cantilever is made of special aluminum alloy tube and boron for extremely efficient transmission of vibrations. Rare earth metals with excellent electromagnetic conductivity compose the magnet for the stylus.

1. Compatible with wider and deeper grooves (Micro Groove).
   The diamond tip consists of a meticulously selected natural single-crystal octahedron. Precision work on the crystal allows for a wide range of grooves. The Super Analogue Stylus can safely be used on recent records which tend to have deeper grooves and with 30-280 micron grooves opposed to the simple conventional 30-80 micron.

JICO VN5MR SAS ZIRCONIA HG REPLACEMENT FOR SHURE VN5MR STYLUS

In the process of developing the "SETO-HORI" ceramic cartridge, which was launched in 2018, JICO found that material hardness is an important factor in determining sound quality. Jico researched for the applicable material and finally decided on Zirconia. Since the mass of zirconia is larger than that of other materials often used as cantilevers, such as boron, Jico first reduced the mass by processing the cantilever into a hollow pipe shape. Moreover, Jico succeeded in suppressing split resonance and reducing the effective mass as seen from the tip of the stylus by covering the joint pipe to the middle of the surface of the cantilever. This covering also makes the cantilever close to tapered shape which is ideal.

SAS Tip
The tip of the Super Analog Stylus is carefully chosen from single-crystal natural diamonds. The laser-cut diamond closely resembles that of the cutting stylus used on a cutting lathe to produce the acetate master disks used in vinyl production. This allows the SAS tip to extract from the contours and recesses of the record groove details which were previously missed by other stylus profiles. Due to its wide contact area with the groove wall, the SAS can reproduce a more expansive bandwidth of information with higher fidelity. Tracking force: 1.25 ± 0.25g.

Cantilever
The four facets of SAS/R’s crystalline ruby cantilever taper toward the diamond tip. This tapered ruby cantilever design allows for lower moving mass, giving the SAS/R even greater ability reproduce vibrations in the record groove with precision, accuracy, speed, and fidelity.
