ORTOFON SUPER OM 10 OM10 CARTRIDGE

The Ortofon Super OM10 OM-10 phono cartridge is very popular among turntable owners for three reasons: (1) it plays music with refinement, smoothness and artful competence that makes it endearing; (2) it is sensibly priced; and (3) it offers an upgrade path to highest fidelity. By simply replacing the stylus, an Ortofon Super OM10 owner can upgrade its performance to the highly rated Ortofon Super OM20, OM30 or OM40 cartridge.

Super Upgradeable
All Super OM models have the same body, construction, and magnetic circuitry. The only difference is the interchangeable stylus unit. Thus, when your level of musical sophistication improves, you can simply switch the existing stylus to the Ortofon Stylus 20, 30 or for pinnacle performance the Ortofon Stylus 40. The Ortofon Stylus 40 offers pinnacle performance for the most demanding listener.

An attractive entry level cartridge

I have been an audiophile for 50 years who has just recently gotten back into vinyl records. bought this to acquire the Super OM body, not the OM-10 replacement stylus attached to it. The Super OM-10 is an entry level audiophile cartridge offering sound quality that is just okay and leaves me for wanting for much more. So I can't rate this product too highly. HOWEVER, it offers a relatively inexpensive upgrade path to good sounding cartridges by switching out the OM-10 replacement stylus with an OM-20, OM-30, or OM-40 on the Super OM body. The OM-20 has developed a reputation as a best-bang-for-the-buck product that is perfect for a maturing audiophile (and deservedly so), while the OM-30 is a bit more refined, intended for the fairly serious but not high end audiophile market. I have no use for or interest in using the OM-10 stylus except as a back-up; its sole value lies as an entry level product or as a temporary stand-in for a higher level stylus that has suffered damage. I am happy with the purchase because it met expectations, was value priced, and has put the best-value Super OM-20 cartridge within my grasp with the purchase of the OM-20 replacement stylus (approximately $230 including tax).

Super 10 is super

Truth is I haven't played it yet. My record player is in the shop getting spruced up.However, my entire system is 1971 so I'm pretty sure the Super OM 10 is going to work really good.

The stylus that I ordered based on your recommendation was not the stylus that works with my turntable.
I can’t figure out how to return it.

Headshell lead wires

I've used these before from LP Tunes. insofar as a headshell, the gold plated lead wires are the greatest good any of us are ever going to get!

Perfect fit

turntable belt fit perfectly and was delivered quickly.

Replace needle

I I haven’t used them yet. Just replaced what I put in.

Stylus

So far so good. The thing is i sent that to the Philippines. My sister has the turntable and the amp to connect with. I haven’t gotten a reply yet.hopefully she will install it and works!
