I was using an Audio Technica AT440MLA phono cartridge that I had purchased 2 years ago (I bought it new $199.95). I heard about Grado being made in America so I thought I would try one. Got it used and I replace the needle from a used cartridge I bought. After listening & comparing both I am selling the AT440mla that has very low hours on it.
I have HP, Tektronix, & UREI test equipment that I used to verify what my ears told me. The Grado has wider bandwidth measured. I felt also it sounded more accurate & realistic.
But people should pick the sound gear that they like. Everyone has different taste in what they like & how it should sound.
Listen to your heart and put together a system that inspires you. Not what someone else says is good.. Just my own thoughts.
