78 RPM STYLUS FOR TEAC DC-D6300 DC D6300 DCD6300 TURNTABLE

The Teac DC-D6300 DC D6300 DCD6300 turntable was fitted with a Teac SPL-102 SPL102 needle stylus. A photo of the stylus replacement is supplied above. The stylus features a 3.0 mil polished diamond for long playing life and correct tracing of 78 RPM record grooves. It offers minimal groove wear and accurate rendition of voice and music. The color of the stylus varies. Please verify and use this as a guide only since the cartridge and stylus may have been changed through the years.

A very common misconception is that you can use an LP stylus for playing 78 RPM records. This is one quick and sure way to damage the 78 RPM record grooves. To maintain the playback fidelity of your 78 record, you really need to use a stylus designed for 78 RPM records, otherwise with just a single playing, you could ruin the fidelity of the record grooves. Moreover, the LP stylus is much narrower than the 78 RPM record groove hence the tip will slide to the bottom of the groove where debris has collected for many decades. This results in extraordinarily high-surface noise.

If the stylus above differs from what you have, then it means you no longer have the fitted cartridge. For us to assist you further, we need the cartridge brand and model number. This info is usually inscribed on the cartridge and stylus.

JICO replacement Empire S2000E/III stylus
Michael Watsonw (Wilson, US)
New life for a classic cartridge

I really enjoy listening to albums with my Empire S2000E/III and this new JICO stylus. It gives me another experience from my normal Ortofon 2m blue cartridge. I get a better upper range definition and slightly less bass with the Empire/JICO setup, and a perfect alternative cartridge for my budget stereo!

Good job

A different brand of stylus cartridge was on my record player, which I discovered when I bought the record player brand of replacement needle, and it didn't fit. I sent photos, and they were able to identify the correct stylus. It works!
