An excellent little cartridge

This is a great sounding cartridge. It’s more detailed than my old Shure. LP tunes is great to deal with! Thanks!

Good choice for original mono microgroove

For mono records pressed before the stereo era (and sometimes after) that use the original microgroove, the 0.7 mil diameter conical stylus is a good choice so that the stylus doesn't scrape the bottom of the groove, as is the case with elliptical and hyperelliptical styli. Sound quality is quite good for the price. I also have an AT81CP, 0.6 mil conical stylus, and the AT3482P has more definition. Connect the right and left channels together, before the pre-amp, to make a mono cartridge. For stereo, there are better cartridges with more modern styli.

Rocking on

It worked great. I bought a turntable for 10 dollars and put this in it, along with a new belt. It will make a good gift someday.

The little stylus that could..and then some!

When I got this I thought I had overspent and had just paid 150 bucks for the 70 dollar model with a stylus guard. I was hoping for the best, expecting mehh, and got the closest to sonic nirvana I've yet to experience! I am simply a music lover, I haven't the experience or the budget to be an audiophile , but wow this little cartridge can sing! I have the carbon fidelity, the nss divine, this is noticeably better even to my untrained ears. If you are using the at3600 cartridge, strongly consider this stylus before you change to a different cartridge. It really is that good!

Soundesign stylus Mdel 6821

Stylus fit, the weight was light i ended up having to use a similar stylus that was heavier and for an Emerson.
The lighter stylus allowed the arm to float across the album.

Works good

D51 type stylus works fine

Looks & Sounds like the Original

Arrived well packed although I was concerned that it didn’t have the little cover over the needle that a new stylus often has. But once installed it sounded good!

Thorens Replacement Belt

Belt is more robust than old belt. Highly recommended.

Giant Killer

If you have an OM body, base or Super, you owe it to yourself to get this stylus. It plays WAY above its price range! I am still breaking it in, but wow! On new vinyl it is dead quiet. No pops, background noise or hisses. Plays music from top to bottom without me missing any midrange.
I have 3 different versions of these, shure n75ed2, at 3600l, now this ortofon version which could become my favorite. Buy these and get a good phono stage ( I am using an old nad 7140) and stop worrying about expensive cartridges! An absolute jem!
